6 flags over hell

Photo blog surrounding events leading to and just soon after Survival Research Lab's San Jose show August 11 2006. This is our largest, no-holds barred, permitted show in the Bay Area in about a decade. The show is unofficially known as 6 Flags Over Hell until Mark blesses it with the usual SRL long title for big shows. Dante's Inferno is the theme for the show

4th of July

Aside from the assortment of the usual explosion experiments at the SRL compound on a holiday such as this, it was also a chance to bring out two machines for practice/testing:

The Inchworm with Mark Pauline giving lessons to operators Karen Marcelo and Liisa Pine. It was also son Jake Eddie's first time control of a SRL machine (that he calls Big Bug)!

And the V-1 that Mark, Doug Sutton, and Kevin Binkert tested. The V1 is the first guided missile invented and this is a replica of a WWII buzz bomb engine that Mark built from plans he found on the Internet.

Yes we dropped the Inchworm on the skinniest guy at the shop Macki but he survived for the re-enactment:
