Photo is from What Is Real (1998)

The high pressure Air Launcher was originally developed by NASA for avalanche control. It uses gas pressure to automatically load and fire up to 26 concrete filled cans at 500 feet/second for a range of about a mile. The device uses CO2 and circumvents Federal Firearms Laws. It can be operated over the web using any web browser. Servo motors control pan/tilt and is powered with 110 electricity.

One of the machines outfitted for internet telerobotics and a gesture-based head-mounted controller.
